The Youth Group at CBC consists of both a Junior and Senior High Group. The Junior High Group is made up of students currently in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The Senior High Group is made up of students currently in the 9th through the 12th grades. Many opportunities are provided for the students to participate in Worship, Sunday School, Youth Choirs, Cross Training, Mission Trips, and other activities.
OPPORTUNITIES
►Worship
Because worship is essential for every Christian, Jr. and Sr. Highers are strongly encouraged to attend one of the morning services which are held at 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
►Sunday School
The CBC Youth meet each Sunday morning at 10:45 a.m. in the Youth Center located on the 2nd floor of the Christian Education Wing (Room 201 & 202). Following a time of singing, sharing and prayer, each group has the opportunity to look closely into God’s Word. Jr. High is taught by David Johnson and Sr. High is taught by Pastor Dale.
►Cross Training
The Jr. and Sr. High meet each Wednesday at CBC from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and enjoy a time of fellowship, games and contemporary worship followed by an in-depth look into God’s Word on a variety of issues.
►X-treme Praise youth choir
X-Treme Praise is for youth 9th grade through college. They also practice Sunday evenings from 5 - 6 p.m. under the direction of Pastor Don and Susan Thayer. They perform throughout the year during Morning Worship Services and other specially scheduled times. X-Treme Praise also goes on a Spring Tour each year.(see video clip here - 7.1 MB)
►Mission Trips
Every other year Sr. Highers are invited to participate in some type of mission trip. Strict requirements must be met by those who apply in order to be able to participate. Past trips have included working at Echo Ranch Bible Camp in Alaska, working at an orphanage in Peru and most recently helping at a mission station in Spain.
►Other Activities
On scheduled dates (noted on the CBC Youth Calendar) the Jr. High and/or Sr. High Youth Group participate in a variety of fun activities. Activities include miniature golf, bowling, movie nights, game nights, progressive dinners, pool parties, water skiing, camping trips and houseboat trips.
